We have two fantastic job opportunities for proven Liability Insurance Underwriters who are looking to further their career in Commercial Underwriting. 

This is an opportunity to join one of two amazing teams, the security team that will focus on renewals or the contractors team that is focused on new business. Both positions will require experience in liability insurance. Our client has seen impressive growth over the last few years, so you will be looking to join a team of 6 excellent underwriters. The reason for the vacancy is due to the expansion of the current team and organic and acquisitional growth in the organisation. 

The company will offer hybrid working flexibility, you will be based in their offices in Bromley, working 2 days onsite with a flexibility of 3 days working from home. 
 
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 
•    Reviewing and analysing presentations, proposals and renewals. 
•    Underwriting risks within authority levels and in accordance with any underwriting licence that is in place.
•    Using capacity appropriately.
•    Issuance of quotations to brokers.
•    Entering risk information into appropriate systems.
•    Negotiating with brokers.
•    Keeping relevant registers, logs and records up to date as required by team procedures e.g. new business logs, renewal registers, and group business registers.
•    Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and insurers.
•    Conduct prospecting activities as required by team procedures e.g. cases that lapsed last year, cases quoted but not bound last year.
•    Provide correct and high-quality advice to brokers on the Underwriting products.
•    Issue clear and correct instructions to members of the Administration Team.
 
We are seeking an experienced commercial liability underwriter who can:  
 
•    Plan and organise your tasks effectively to ensure that work is completed on time and to the standard required.
•    Demonstrate a high level of care and thoroughness.
•    Check work to ensure completeness and accuracy.
•    Set high standards and well-defined, realistic goals for one’s self.
•    Display a high level of effort and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
•    Show a willingness to work flexibly when required by the needs of the business.
•    Communicate information, ideas and problems in a clear, relevant manner and ensure that the message is understood by the receiver.
•    Participate as an active and contributing member of a team to achieve team goals.
•    Work cooperatively with other team members, involve others, share information as appropriate and share credit for team accomplishments.

To be successful in this role you will need to have 

•    A minimum of 2 years of liability broking or underwriting experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop a career in underwriting.  
•    Experience with Actruis systems is desirable but full training is offered
