An exciting position is available right now for a dynamic and highly organised insurance broking Team Manager to join a thriving “Top Five” insurance powerhouse.

We are currently representing a successful Insurance division working for our client in newly refurbished fantastic offices, based in their Chelmsford office, who is actively searching for an experienced Team Manager to lead their established team of Account Managers.

As the Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to clients, with a focus on optimising retention rates and pursuing growth opportunities. This opportunity falls within our client's Retail Broking Division, which specialises in providing customised business insurance, risk management, and risk transfer solutions to large enterprises and multinationals. 

Reporting directly to the Head of Office, you will collaborate closely with seasoned Account Managers to provide outstanding service to our valued customers.

What you can expect in this role:

  • Champion the client experience by consistently delivering a professional and efficient service. Regularly assess work processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Advocate for corporate standards and procedures, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Effectively allocate workloads to maximise efficiency, maintain high-quality output, and meet SLAs and critical metrics.
  • Conduct effective performance management of the team, taking appropriate actions when necessary. Conduct monthly 1-2-1 meetings and annual performance appraisals, providing regular feedback to team members.
  • Foster a culture of preparedness and motivation among team members, encouraging professional development and succession planning within the team.
  • Actively participate in internal company meetings and assume leadership responsibilities when required. Provide updated statistics required for monthly branch meetings.

Your Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a team leader or manager.
  • Technical knowledge of commercial lines or Personal Lines insurance products acquired through work experience in a broking, MGA, or insurer environment.
  • Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications: Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII. Education to GCSE standard or equivalent, with intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry.
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry, including working towards targets within a regulated and measurable framework, and achieving SLAs.
  • Demonstrated risk awareness when handling customer information, with a customer-centric mindset focused on delivering optimal outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven, with a strong ability to meet deadlines, remain task-focused, drive results, and proactively support team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident in building and maintaining rapport. Strong planning and analytical abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, and experience with Acturis would be advantageous.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
