Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of Commercial Insurance Experience (Broker or Insurer)
- Experience working as a Commercial Account Handler ideally handling mid-market and large commercial/corporate accounts
- Good all-round commercial insurance experience with technical knowledge across a range of classes of business
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have a strong and current technical knowledge of:
- Commercial Combined
- Combined Liability
- Property Owners
- Contractors All Risk Covers
- Professional Indemnity
- Management Liability
- Cyber Liability
- SME Package Business
- Knowledge of Open GI is desirable
- High-level customer service skills
- A desire to develop strong customer and insurer relationships
- Well-developed negotiation skills
- The ability to support colleagues in a close team environment.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Currently holding or working towards Cert CII
Principle Duties and key tasks:
The successful candidate will be joining a busy, proactive team of brokers who specialise in Commercial Insurance.
This is not an exhaustive list and depending on your agreed career path these duties may change.
- Working alongside Account Executives to retain and generate new business, in line with or in excess of, company targets.
- Obtaining new business/renewal terms, negotiating and closing with Insurers
- Create documents for new customers, along with any mid-term adjustments and renewal information too.
- Ensure all customer details are recorded accurately and entered into system in a timely fashion.
- Checking policy documents, covers, endorsements etc. to ensure that they are correct and in line with the customer’s needs.
- Manage all day-to-day queries, renewals, amendments and mid-term adjustments Build and maintain relationships with customers, prospects, teams and insurers to provide best-in-class service and drive growth.
- Incoming and outbound call handing - new and existing customers
- Effectively manage individual diary.
- This role offers hybrid working once the initial training plan has been completed with an expectation to be in the office only three times a week thereafter.
Training and Development:

All staff can study for professional qualifications such as CII (Chartered Insurance Institute). We will encourage further professional development to reach DIP status.

Their offices are open Monday - Thursday 8am - 6.30pm and Friday 8am - 5.30pm. A flexible working approach can be discussed.

They will support and fund professional qualifications such as CERT CII. You will be awarded a £500 pay increase with each successfully passed module (total of 3) with a £500 bonus on completion.
