Exciting opportunity for an experienced Personal Lines Insurance professional to join a thriving Manchester-based insurance business. Reporting to the Head of Broking Management, you will mentor and manage junior team members, taking on a leadership/management-focused role.

The company, employing 25 Account Handlers in both Commercial and Personal lines, offers a competitive salary of up to £28K and attractive benefits including 5 weeks holidays, company pension, hybrid working, and private medical policy option. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional broking services, prioritising customer service and positive outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance of brokers and staff in collaboration with the Compliance Department.
  • Foster an enthusiastic trading culture and effectively manage new and existing business.
  • Conduct regular file checks and provide monthly performance reports.
  • Set clear team goals and promote proactive problem-solving.
  • Maintain effective communication and a positive working environment.
  • Support the Broking Team Manager and maintain good insurer relations.
  • Seek efficiency across the business and ensure technical and market knowledge within the team.
  • Support other broking teams as needed.

Requirements:

  • Several years of insurance broking experience.
  • Management experience preferred but not essential.
  • Strong business sense and understanding of brokers' challenges.
  • A Level or equivalent education, proficiency in broking software and MS Office.
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills for dealing with insurers and managing a team.

KPIs:

  • Broker feedback, customer complaints, and proactive phone call activity.
  • Compliance with broking standards, renewal retention, and new business conversion.
  • Placement of policies with preferred markets and compliance with file checks.
  • Achievement of monthly objectives and staff training and competency levels.
  • Effective use of broking systems and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Analysis of lost business and prospecting meetings.
  • Timely resolution of accounts queries and expense management.
