Motor Claims Handler

We are recruiting a Motor insurance Claims handler for a leading insurance business based in West Malling. A great job opportunity to work in a thriving team of five Claims handlers who look after Commercial insurance Motor Claims directly for the client.

Within your new role, you will handle the claims process from first notification through to settlement, providing the best outcome directly for your client and you will manage a caseload of approx. 350 claims. We are keen to consider candidates with a minimum of 1 year's claims experience which you have gained working in a personal lines motor or commercial motor environment working directly for a broker or insurer.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to-

  • Advising and updating your clients about relevant events and discussions during their claim.
  • Ensuring complete customer happiness by regularly assessing the status of claims with clients, insurers, recovery agents, and solicitors.
  • Offering appropriate technical advice to clients throughout the duration of the claim.
  • Having open conversations with your Line Manager about any issues, queries or areas of concern which may arise.
  • Building and maintaining your market, insurance, legislation, and other technical knowledge.
  • Efficiently running claims and keeping the system updated with all relevant information.
  • Ensure that claims statistics are accurate and produced in accordance with SLAs.

To be successful in this role, you will need-

  • Experience within the insurance industry and expert claims handling focus.
  • Strong customer service drive along with good planning and analytical skills.
  • An eye for spotting potential risks and seeking advice when required.
  • Due diligence and process adherence accompanied by high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and will take initiative when assisting team members.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
