An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our client's Underwriting team as a Legal Analyst. The right candidate will mainly be focused on managing delegated authority schemes, underwriting new risks, and developing new business. You will be required to master and implement underwriting guidelines and to demonstrate a detailed understanding of risk exposure and appetite.

Our client is a market-leading national firm of underwriters, specialising in legal expenses insurance (LEI). They work in partnership with leading UK law firms, providing innovative solutions to ensure they are enabled to provide the highest quality access to justice.

It is essential that you have gained experience within a legal practitioner/Lawyer/Solicitor environment or underwriting commercial After The Event (ATE) or Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) matters.

Essential Skills/Experience required to succeed in this role:

· Minimum 2 years PQE (If Lawyer/Solicitor Background) or Minimum 5 years ATE/LEI Underwriting Experience.

Legal experience is essential in two of the following areas,  

  • Professional negligence;
  • Insolvency;
  • Shareholder disputes;
  • Commercial breach of contract;
  • Insurance law;
  • Contentious trusts and probate;
  • Defamation, privacy and data breach claims.

The person:
To succeed within the role, you will be highly motivated and professional with sound ethical standards and behaviour. Customer service should be second nature to you. Initiative and responsibility are strongly encouraged so a proactive attitude is essential.
