International Facultative Reinsurance Broker (Part Time)

Ref: 4531| Posted: 26th Oct 2026

Genuinely part-time roles in international broking are rare. This one lets you keep placing business, negotiating with underwriters and working with overseas clients, three days a week, with two days back for whatever matters most to you.

Insure Recruitment is partnering with a long-established, independent Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance broker to appoint an International Facultative Reinsurance Broker on a long-term, part-time basis.

With more than 40 years in the market, our client has a strong reputation for specialist insurance and reinsurance solutions worldwide, often handling niche business that larger brokers overlook.

The opportunity

You’ll take on an established portfolio of international facultative reinsurance business and develop it further, working in a small, entrepreneurial team with real autonomy over your placements.

Classes: Property, Liability, Marine, Hull, Bonds and other specialist facultative risks
Territories: the Far East, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established international facultative portfolio
  • Review submissions, assess risks and identify the right markets and capacity
  • Negotiate terms, pricing and coverage with Lloyd’s syndicates and international reinsurers
  • Run placements end to end, from first enquiry through quotations and slips to cover documentation
  • Build relationships with overseas producing brokers, cedants, insurers and reinsurers
  • Spot new business opportunities and strengthen existing relationships
  • Work with the accounts team on premium collection and support claims communications
  • Make sure all placements meet London Market standards

About you

  • Experience in international facultative reinsurance or international insurance broking
  • A sound understanding of Lloyd’s placement processes and international reinsurance markets
  • Experience in one or more of Property, Liability, Marine, Hull or Bonds
  • Relationships with Lloyd’s underwriters, reinsurers or overseas producing brokers
  • Confidence preparing and negotiating slips, quotations and placement documentation
  • Strong negotiation and relationship skills
  • Comfortable managing your own workload in a small, experienced team

You don’t need experience in every class. If your London Market skills could add to the business, we’d still like to talk.

Working pattern

  • Three days a week, office-based in the Lloyd’s Building
  • Four days a week (paid pro rata) for roughly the first two months, to allow a full handover of clients, systems and market relationships

Salary and benefits

  • £30,000 a year for three days (£50,000 FTE)
  • Annual leave and bank holidays, pro rata
  • Lunch credit for the Lloyd’s canteen
  • A varied international portfolio in a supportive, close-knit team where your expertise is valued

Why this role?
Most broking roles assume a five-day week. This one is built around three days, and it’s a long-term role, not a stopgap. It suits someone who wants to stay at the heart of the market while making more time for family, travel, other commitments or simply a better balance.
