An exciting role is available right now for a talented new business professional from an insurance, brokerage, or financial services background to help increase market share of an established, multiple award-winning Surrey-based insurance business, helping them thrive and grow.

As Senior Sales Executive, you’ll hold ultimate responsibility for new business sales development and (together with the Trading Board) set strategic direction to achieve the company’s long-term business goals. The position requires well-connected candidates with the initiative and drive to generate new business; maximise revenue and return on investment; and explore successful ways to improve sales and profitability.

Your mission will be to develop new B2B client relationships (as well as intermediaries and introducers) to utilise and/or promote the Company’s products and services across a range of mid-size insurance companies, with a particular focus on Travel, Wedding and Events insurance. You’ll be planning and implementing sales plans; delivering new business targets through existing customers; and developing profitable new partnerships with new direct and wholesale customers. Reflecting the seniority of this role, you must have insurance and business development experience. Product knowledge of business travel would be highly advantageous. 

The position would best suit a confident, proactive and self-motivated professional with exceptional people skills who’s ready and hungry for a senior next step and whose focus mirrors the company’s outstanding reputation for providing the best possible personal customer service. 

You’ll be working particularly closely with the Managing Director, Operations Director and Finance Manager to ensure you’re maintaining a profitable business sales focus and pipeline which compliments the overall Marketing and Sales Development strategy and meets the company’s growth goals. You’ll also work with Marketing to agree target audiences; set and review budgets and sales targets; and ensure positive launch and growth. Collaborating with the Underwriting and Broking Director, you will be helping design and supporting new product development. Where necessary, you may have to proactively initiate change or corrective action to maximize opportunities. 

As you will be regularly reporting sales activity and analysis to the Board and shareholders, you’ll need to be highly articulate and a consummate communicator. Excellent listening skills and creativity in finding innovative solutions will be crucial, as will your ability to work equally well both on your own and as part of our friendly and talented team.

Initially office-based in leafy and well-connected Surrey, flexible hybrid working will be considered once you’re settled in.
