A fantastic job opportunity for an experienced Compliance Officer to join a leading insurance business. Reporting directly to the Head of 1st Line of Defence, you'll be a vital part of the business, providing clear, accurate, and effective compliance advice and support.
Your main focus will be on ensuring our retail and wholesale operations consistently meet their regulatory obligations and that all internal processes and procedures are followed.
What you'll bring
- Significant experience in a compliance role, specifically within the general insurance market.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to confidently collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- The skill to produce high-quality process documentation, reports, and Management Information (MI) in a way that effectively engages key business leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Business Support: Work directly with the business to drive activities that achieve objectives while always adhering to Group policies.
- Risk & Guidance: Collaborate with the 2nd Line of Defence (2LoD) to ensure their advice and guidance is correctly interpreted and implemented in line with the Group's risk appetite.
- Compliance Prioritisation: Highlight the most critical compliance actions for the business by collecting and analysing regulatory and conduct MI, focusing on trend and root cause analysis.
- Control Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of business controls and proactively take action to close any necessary gaps or make improvements.
- Documentation & Review: Help the business create compliant documentation, regularly review approved materials, and ensure all regulatory changes are implemented smoothly.
- Issue Management: Support and, where appropriate, own the management and resolution of breaches, Errors & Omissions (E&O's), and complaints, with a sharp focus on determining the root cause and improving control effectiveness.
