Account Executive – Commercial Insurance (Farm, Estate, Bloodstock & Commercial Insurance)

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced insurance professional who enjoys new business, building trusted relationships, delivering exceptional client service, and developing long-term accounts.

As an Account Executive, you will inherit an established book of business while also being responsible for developing new business opportunities, retaining existing clients, and identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and services across the wider portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing relationship management with proactive business development and takes pride in delivering a consultative, solutions-focused service to clients.

You will work closely with both clients and insurers to negotiate the best possible outcomes while maintaining the high standards and professionalism the business is known for.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an inherited portfolio of Farm & Estate, Commercial, and Bloodstock clients

  • Build strong, long-term relationships through exceptional client service and trusted advice

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and proactive relationship building

  • Retain and grow existing accounts through regular client engagement and strategic account management

  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and risk solutions

  • Negotiate with insurers and underwriters to secure the best outcomes for clients

  • Conduct client meetings, renewal discussions, and presentations for prospective clients

  • Support clients throughout the claims process and liaise with claims teams and loss adjusters where required

  • Ensure renewal retention and new business targets are achieved

  • Maintain accurate records and operate fully in line with FCA and compliance standards

  • Represent the business with professionalism, credibility, and integrity at all times

Experience & skills

  • Previous commercial insurance or broking experience essential

  • Experience within Farm & Estate, Rural, Bloodstock, or Commercial insurance advantageous

  • Proven ability to manage and develop client relationships

  • Experience generating new business and growing accounts advantageous

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Professional and organised approach with strong attention to detail

  • Relevant insurance qualifications advantageous or willingness to work towards them
